Program Officer for Resilient Development Pathway and the Greater Bay Area Coordinator, ICLEI–Local Governments for Sustainability

Zheng Huan is currently the Program Officer for Resilient Development Pathway and the Greater Bay Area Coordinator at ICLEI–Local Governments for Sustainability, Beijing Office. ICLEI is one of the world’s largest intergovernmental organizations for sustainable development, with members including more than 2,500 local governments from over 120 countries. Before joining ICLEI, Huan initiated the Community-based Climate Action Program in the Pearl River Delta. Over the course of nearly four years at the South China Environment Fund, she spearheaded efforts in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation, working closely with communities and stakeholders to enhance their capacity to address climate challenges and build local resilience. At ICLEI, Huan is responsible for managing programs and projects that align with the Resilient Development Strategic Pathway. Since 2021, she has been leading the Making Cities Resilient 2030 initiative, in partnership with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). In this capacity, she provides technical assistance and policy advice to local governments throughout China, including municipalities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Kunming, Foshan, Lishui, among others.
