Xu Weishun graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Design with a master’s degree in architecture. His undergraduate degree was a bachelor’s degree with high honors from the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia. He worked at Takenaka Corporation in Japan, and has won international awards including the Second Prize in the 14th Greater Boston Affordable Housing Development Competition and First prize in the 30th Architectural Environment Design Competition. Weishun is currently a lecturer at the College of Engineering and Architecture of Zhejiang University, a member of the first session of the Computational Design Academic Committee of the Architectural Society of China, an Early Career Board member of the Architectural Intelligence journal, and a founding partner of the design firm 1DesignLab. He has long been engaged in computational architectural design research driven by digital fabrication, focusing on the development of design applications for low-carbon, low-impact intelligent construction technologies such as 3D printing and mixed reality construction, and is committed to promoting cutting-edge technologies in practice through architectural design. promotion and application. He has directed or participated in a number of National Natural Science Foundation projects, provincial and ministerial level scientific research projects, and has continued to publish in international journals and top conferences on computational design.
