Professor DONG Renjie is currently the Director of the Research Center for Carbon Neutrality in Agriculture and Rural Areas, College of Engineering, China Agricultural University (CAU). He serves as Director of the State International Research Center of BioEnergy Science and Technology (iBEST); He is Deputy Director of the Research Advisory Council of the Centre for Biomass Research in Germany (DBFZ RAC); Chairman of ISO TC255 (Biogas) and Member of ISO TC 285 (Biomass stove), and China biogas representative in Bioenergy TASK 37 (Biogas) of the International Energy Agency.
For 35 years since 1988, Professor DONG has been committed to promoting the development, transformation and international cooperation of biogas engineering and biomass stoves technologies, and methane mitigation. He advocates “waste to biogas” and “power to gas”, to achieve regional nutrient and energy self-sufficiency through biogas technology and renewable electricity, and to create a net zero countryside.
He has led/ participated in about 20 national and local research projects and published 4 books and more than 300 articles; He is the highly cited and high-yield author and top 2% global scientist in the field of soil/ environment in the past 4 years; He won 6 different level awards.
On August 10, Professor DONG was awarded the Fellow of The Academy of Engineering and Technology of the Developing World (Fellow of AETDEW).
