Ye Yanfei worked at the China Banking Regulatory Commission (now the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission), where he was responsible for green credit, etc. From 2003 to 2006, he worked at the China Project Center of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group, where he was engaged in technical assistance and financial reforms, and from 1988 to 2003, he worked in the Department of National Economic Accounts of the National Bureau of Statistics , where he was mainly engaged in the analysis of financial flows and macroeconomics. Ye Yanfei graduated from Peking University and the National University for Policy Studies, Japan, with a master’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in public policy.
